As part of our regeneration work, we have fitted External Wall Insulation (EWI) to almost 2,000 properties with customers and their families benefiting from warmer homes. The work has also allowed us to protect the environment by reducing our carbon footprint and energy consumption. The Council is committed to reducing carbon emissions across the district.
The benefits of the work include:
- Reduced heating costs
- Increased comfort for everyone living in the home
- Improved visual appearance of the homes and the estate.
This work has been made possible due to funding from the Government's Green Homes Fund and North East Derbyshire District Council.
We have carried out EWI projects in the following areas:

- Eckington
- Grassmoor
- Heath
- Holmesfield
- Mickley
- North Wingfield
- Pilsley
- Renishaw
- Tupton
- Unstone
In conjunction with some of the EWI schemes, we also ran heating replacement programmes to replace outdated heating systems, roof replacements and installed new windows.
