Repairs
Repairs during the Christmas period when our offices are closed:
We close at 3pm on Tuesday 24 December 2024 and re-open at 8am on Thursday 2 January 2025
To report an emergency repair please phone 08000 121621.
An emergency repair is:
- Something that is a risk to customer safety – has caused or is likely to cause an injury
- Something that is a risk to the property – structurally i.e. fire or flood
- When the Emergency Services are involved.
Examples of emergency repairs are:
- Suspected gas leak or fumes
- Carbon monoxide alarm activation
- Fumes or smoke from a solid fuel appliance
- No heat or hot water
- Total loss of electrical power – lighting failure or power failure
- Sounding smoke alarm
- Being locked in/out of the property with no other means of access/escape
- Broken window – security issue
- Blocked toilet – where the customer does not have use of another toilet
- Blocked drains inside a property – where there is a risk to property or health & safety
- Stair lift not working – stair lift provider to be telephoned – (this is usually found on a sticker under the seat)
- Heavy roof leaks
- Dangerous Roofs/Chimneys/Gutters
- Serious flooding due to water leak inside the property.
Any other high priority repairs that are not classed as an emergency will be assessed on an individual basis and responded to accordingly.
Examples of a high priority repair over the Xmas period are:
- Beeping smoke alarms
- Loss of hot water (without a working shower)
- Uncontainable leak.
Any repairs attended to that are found to be non-emergency or low priority may be subject to the customer being recharged for the call out and work carried out.

If you smell gas...
If you can smell gas, are worried you have a gas leak or are worried that fumes containing carbon monoxide are leaking from one of your appliances, you should call the National Grid gas emergency line immediately on 0800 111 999. Lines are open 24hrs a day seven days a week.
If you smell gas:
- Open windows and doors so the gas can escape
- Turn off the gas supply at the meter
- Avoid the use of naked flames and electrical switches
- CALL 0800 111 999.
