Regeneration and Renewal

Rykneld Homes is working in partnership with North East Derbyshire District Council to carry out the regeneration of Council housing throughout the district to ensure we provide quality, sustainable homes which are fit for generations to come.

In 2013 Rykneld Homes became a registered provider and has since developed 44 new homes for affordable rent in addition to providing 117 new additional homes for the Council.

Rykneld Homes is unique in that more than a third of the 8,000 homes we manage are of non-traditional construction. We have more than 15 different construction types where homes are not built using bricks and mortar but use different methods such as concrete pre-fabrication and steel frame construction.  A number of these non-traditionally built homes are now in need of repair and regeneration to secure their long term future.

Rykneld Homes has now successfully completed a range of comprehensive regeneration programmes to approximately 35% of our non-traditional stock - this has included major refurbishments, demolitions and new build. As part of this we have also completed our 1,000th External Wall Insulation on a Council owned home.
