Derbyshire Time to Talk Campaign

DATE PUBLISHED: 7 February 2022

Mental health and wellbeing is vital to us all but it can sometimes be hard to start those conversations. But conversations about mental health don't need to be hard - it could be as simple as asking someone how their day is going.

Making contact with someone else can have a huge impact on how they are feeling.

Derbyshire County Council are launching a Time to Talk Derbyshire Campaign on 7th February which will run for a month to raise awareness around mental health, to increase and promote positive conversations and to reduce the stigma around talking about Mental Health.

Let's get the conversation about mental health and well-being started.

Why not join us in having a conversation each day around mental health?

That might include some of the following ideas:

  • texting a friend
  • checking up on a loved one
  • asking someone how they're doing
  • hosting a coffee morning
  • sharing your 'small wins' with others.

Email asch.time2talk@derbyshire.gov.uk with your tips about how to start a mental wellbeing conversation and we'll share your ideas on social media.

Here's a few tips on how to start the conversation.

  • show you're willing to listen/talk
  • listen, don't judge
  • step up and make the move
  • be patient
  • be supportive
  • be yourself.

Visit the Derbyshire County County website for more information about the Time2Talk campaign
