Four villages got an early spring clean thanks to the efforts of Rykneld Homes staff.
Our Community Involvement Team joined forces with our Community Improvers and Housing and Support Officers to carry out litter picks in Killamarsh, Mickley, Holmewood, and Heath.
The Community Improvers gave up their time during the half term holidays to help us with the litter picks which are part of our February Half Term Activities.
In Killamarsh we collected seven bags full of rubbish and in Mickley we collected twelve, as well as a tipper full of larger items such as fridges and large furniture! Whilst in Holmewood and Heath we had help from the Holmewood and Heath Healthy Futures Group!
The litter picks are part of our Housing and Support Team's plans to work with communities to improve our neighbourhoods and keep North East Derbyshire a place that people are proud to live in.
Community Involvement Officer Jude Milburn said, "We hope that by involving young community members in keeping these areas tidy it will encourage others within the community to do the same, maintaining a nice place to live for everyone."
