The health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority and we are closely monitoring the situation around coronavirus.

Advice and information continues to change on a daily basis and therefore we are having to make plans for how we will be able to deliver our services should the situation develop.

The government has identified that certain people are considered to be at higher risk than others and we do not want to do anything that increases this risk, either for you, our customer, or for our staff who may be in contact with you.

In light of government and health service advice we are introducing some service changes.

We will carry out emergency repairs only. We are sorry but due to the current situation we are unable to continue carrying out non-essential repairs, even though you may have already received an appointment and be expecting us. We appreciate that this will be an inconvenience but hope you understand.

Any customer requesting an emergency repair will be asked if they have been diagnosed with Coronavirus, are self-isolating or showing symptoms. If the customer answers yes we will continue to book the Emergency Repair but advise the customer how they can protect themselves and our staff.

Housing Management Services

We will only be carrying out essential home visits but will continue to maintain telephone contact with customers we know to be vulnerable.

Paying your Rent

If you are concerned about paying your rent due to reduced income please contact our Finance Team on 01246 217670.

We have postponed a number of community events scheduled for the next few weeks including a community roadshow in Pilsley and rent drop-in sessions in Clay Cross and Killamarsh. We have also postponed our customer estate walkabout until further notice. Our staff will continue to carry out their usual estate management duties.

Community safety

We want everyone to stay safe during the current service disruption. Always check the identity of any stranger calling at your home.  All our staff carry identity badges and you can call us 01246 217670 to check if you are unsure. We have included advice on our website about bogus callers and staying safe.

Information about Coronavirus

Typical symptoms include fever and a cough that may progress to breathing difficulties.  The current evidence is that most cases appear to be mild and that more severe symptoms generally only occur in people with weakened immune systems, older people, and those with long term conditions like diabetes, cancer and chronic lung disease.

Because this is a new illness it is not clear how it spreads but similar viruses spread by cough or sneeze droplets. These fall on people nearby who directly inhale or pick them up on their hands from surfaces.

There are things we can all do, however, to help stop germs spreading:

  • Always carry tissues, use them to catch coughs or sneezes then bin them and wash our hands or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Wash our hands often with soap and water or use sanitiser gel, especially after using public transport.
  • Avoid touching our eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

Face masks play an important role in clinical settings but there is little evidence of benefit from their use in other settings.  Public Health England is not currently advising people to stay at home with mild cold or flu symptoms.  However, it is recommending that people who have travelled from specific hotspots during the last fortnight should be vigilant.
