Following the success of our other Kurling Tournaments, we supported another tournament - this time in Clay Cross!
Kurling enthusiasts from across the district gathered in Clay Cross for the latest tournament organised by local teams.
Rykneld Homes Community Involvement Team helped to set up and encourage the indoor sport amongst community groups who now enjoy an activity which can be played by all ages and abilities.
'Kurling' is just like the winter sport curling, but without the ice! It can be played by people of all ages and abilities on practically any indoor floor surface.
It's a very social sport and the rules are very simple and it's easy to play while standing or seated. A special pushing stick and ramp was available for people with disabilities or mobility issues.
There were special prizes for the winning team from Killamarsh!
Other teams who took part were from Morton, Holmgate, Grassmoor, Marx Court flats in Clay Cross, Eckington, and Holmewood.
If you would like to get involved with one of the kurling groups in our district please contact our Community Involvement Team on 01246 217670.
